Wharf Uncorked

This Food & Drink Festival in the nearby town of Orange Beach, AL, usually happens in the fall, and features renowned chefs and highlights fine wines and regional craft beers. In addition to being one of the tastiest events of each year, the event proceeds help raise money for the Make-A-Wish® Alabama foundation.

Alabama Coastal BirdFest

BirdFest showcases the best spots for bird- and nature-watching in Baldwin and Mobile counties. There are workshops and river-boat tours. This is a must-see event for any avid nature-lover.

National Shrimp Festival

This festival is all about the shrimp, cooked in so many different ways that you will have to come back for years to try them all! But there is also much more than shrimp at this festival, live music, art galleries, fun runs, a golf tournament and even a sand castle building contest! This event always falls on the second weekend of October and you don’t want to miss it!

World Food Championships

The World Food Championships is another impossible to miss foodie-festival. With a large money prize at stake, this competition draws the world’s best chefs all to one place for an amazing food/entertainment experience!

Christmas Lighted Boat Parade

This unique Christmas parade features yachts, sailboats, and even some kayaks and canoes all decorated to the nines in Christmas spirit! The boats leave from Lulu’s at Homeport Marina and the parade finishes at Flora-Bama. You can find more information on the Chamber of Commerce website, but the best spot to watch the parade is the Wharf at Orange Beach.

Orange Beach Seafood Festival & Car Show

The City of Orange Beach has put on this annual festival for over 25 years and it features live music, a car show and some of the best Southern Food you can find. Typically occurring in February, the festival also offers a variety of booths with face painting and carnival games.

Festival of Art

This annual springtime Art festival caters to art-lovers of all ages and tastes. With more than 100 artists working in a variety of media, there is inspiration for all artist’s and connoisseurs at this festival. There is also live music and food!

The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show

The Gulf Coast’s premier boat show, this springtime event showcases $150 Million of yachts and boats, to be toured and purchased. This event also offers art classes for kids and a fashion show!

National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship

At this annual event, the countries top eight collegiate Volleyball teams face-off in the NCAA Volleyball Championship!

Hangout Music Festival

This annual music festival has been the stage for some of the nations hottest performers, including Kendrick Lamar, The Chainsmokers, The Killers, Mumford & Sons, Weezer, Twenty-One Pilots and more! This event is a weekend packed with top-level music right on the beach!

Blue Marlin Grand Championship

This annual sport fishing competition features the nations top fisherman and a big money prize!

Annual Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation Professional Rodeo

At this event you can cheer on professional cowboys and cowgirls from across the South. There are horseback rides and an extra Kids Zone to keep the little ones occupied. And all the proceeds go to the Peer Helper Programs in Baldwin County.

Monthly Local Events

You’re sure to find that coastal living means summertime weather and accompanying activities all year round. So, it should be no surprise that the Summer Reading Program is held at the Adult Activity Center throughout the winter months as well as the summer!

January/February

The cold months of January and February are the perfect time to relax on the sunny, sandy beaches or lounge poolside with a riveting novel to help you forget the cold weather and dark days you left behind.

March

The Gulf Coast kicks off the early spring with the Orange Beach Festival of Art, Wharf Boat and Yacht Show and the Festival of Flowers.

April

Children of all ages participate in the Bellingrath Gardens & Home Easter Egg Hunt.

May

Celebrate Moms with the Mother’s Day Concert.

June

Guests will be tempted to keep their eyes to the sky at the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival.

July

This month wouldn’t be complete without a fantastic fireworks extravaganza on the beach. Start the celebration early at the Wharf with the daily Spectra Light Show display.

August

Kick off the college football season with the SEC BeachFest celebration.

September
