This was our third time at Martinique on the Gulf. We’ve stayed at a different property each visit. Balise du Lumiere is spacious and in a great location. It is well stocked for vacationers and offers convenient amenities such as a gulf cart and an ice machine. The house is well furnished but the mattresses could used replacing as both larger beds sagged. The carpeting is also outdated and if not replaced, could use a good cleaning. The beach is beautiful and the resort very clean. Would recommend Martinique on the Gulf to others.

The house was great, but...

The house was great. Loved the floor plan, having three eating areas was awesome, the deep bath tub was amazing!!! The location of the house was nice and the golf cart came in handy. BUT the upstairs king bed sloped in the middle (I think it needed more supports/slats for the frame), a slat did fall from one of the twin beds in the other bedroom, and I had to have someone hold the washing machine door up while I unloaded the wash to go into the dryer. These were little things that did not dampen our fun. They are quick “fixes” and I would go back to the same home and still enjoy our stay.

Have stayed at Martinique on the Gulf multiple times and after trying other beach destinations, keep coming back. Properties and grounds are always clean and well maintained. We love everything about this resort. Look forward to planning our next visit.

Loved the layout! We try hard to stay at Martinique yearly. Now that our children are older, they are allowed to bring friends. This house is laid out so well with a private master suite, as well as, a third bathroom on the main floor so the kids did not have to go upstairs and/or use our private master suite bath. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable, relaxing

Great vacation from our vacation

This little villa really helped us relax after a week at Disneyworld. Taking the golf cart to the beach and the pool was very convenient. The screened in porch was spacious and we saw lots of frogs and lizards.

This was our first time to the area and I was concerned about being to far away from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, but we enjoyed the resort so much we spent most of our time there at the beach. When we did go out it was a easy drive to everything.

This was our 5 th trip to the Gulf Shore area we decided to try something different because a lot of the high rise condos amenities were closed or under construction from the hurricane! We were not disappointed I loved the gated community and easy access to our side by side unit, the master bedroom bed was really comfy and we enjoyed our coffee in the AM in the screened in porch! We swam in the indoor pool every morning and walked to the beach every morning and or evening! We also enjoyed playing tennis and took the gulf cart to the pool at night! We had a couple small issues but the maintenance guys were fast and efficient and very friendly! I would definitely stay here again!

We loved staying in Balise du Lumiere! The owner is fabulous with great communication & the staff at Martinique are excellent!
Everything was nice and clean. The kids loved the sailboat mural! We do not have any complaints at all & would recommend this cottage to anyone!!

We like to go to Gulf Shores because of the short drive. It's only about a 4 hr drive. We took the ferry and we were to the room 10 min off the ferry ride. Pretty amazing! This year we stayed at Martinique. The place Balise Du Lumiere was perfect for me and my family. Nice walking path to that I enjoyed with my grand baby and husband. When I tell you convenient. I mean it! The place comes cart, that allowed you to pack up and head to the beach! Which we did every day. Two pools we barley used cause we loved the beach. I highly recommend. We will be back. We were 100 satisfied!
I forgot to mention it's only about 15 minutes away from heart of the action but for enough away for the escape that I was looking for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Balise du Lumiere. It was well stocked and clean with some updated furniture. We have stayed here for years and have been very pleased. Martinique also quickly responded to our request for more hand towels. The cleaning crew only put one pillow on the master bed, but this was quite minor. Found clean pillow case and pillow and added it ourselves.
